Pay-Per-Call Affiliate Marketing: The Evolution and Excitement

Katie King Marketing Associate, DialogTech

Last week, DialogTech’s team had the opportunity to exhibit at Affiliate Summit West 2016 in Las Vegas. This was DialogTech’s first year as an exhibiting company, and was just 1 of 322 exhibiting sponsors at the Summit. With thousands of attendees, we loved our first year there and can’t wait to be back!

IMG_5722We were excited to attend ASW for two main reasons: the growth of the pay-per-call industry and new enhancements to our LeadFlow product with proven results for affiliate marketers. Based on the multiple breakout sessions and conversations we had with attendees, we started to notice a few recurring themes:

1. The Shift to Mobile Marketing

With the ever-increasing use of smartphones, affiliate marketers are turning to mobile marketing and they need answers in making the most out of mobile traffic. While many affiliates are focusing solely on cost per acquisition leads, there’s a new shift in affiliate networks buying and selling pay-per-call leads. As consumers continue to utilize smartphones, BIA/Kelsey predicts that calls from mobile devices will reach 162 billion by 2019, and affiliate marketing is headed in the same direction.

2. Domination of Digital Marketing

While many of the world’s Fortune 500 marketing and advertising leaders see the importance of increasing their brands, products, and services through digital marketing campaigns, this theme is becoming as important in the affiliate marketing world. Affiliate marketers are utilizing display ads to drive more traffic to their network of advertisers and publishers, generating more clicks and calls, and ultimately driving more revenue. By increasing the use of digital marketing campaigns, affiliate marketers are able to expand their reach to click-to-call campaigns which enables them to expand their business with a completely separate, new division – pay-per-call.

3. The Future of Pay-Per-Call

It’s no secret that many affiliate networks, publishers, and advertisers have largely focused on online leads. The future for affiliate marketers and networks is, without a doubt, phone calls. Many organizations we spoke to are looking to drive incremental revenue, and they’re doing that by expanding their business to include pay-per-call marketing.

After returning from Affiliate Summit West, my biggest takeaway is the maturation of pay-per-call networks. Companies are advancing their practices to include a greater mobile focus, enhance digital marketing campaigns, and shift toward pay-per-call.

We loved hearing about new trends in performance marketing, and enjoyed sharing how our LeadFlow product helps networks get complete control over their pay-per-call campaigns.
